how to get nemo through
harvard's bike benefit
HOW DO I GET IT FOR FREE?
Harvard faculty, staff and students workers can use the CommuterChoice Bike Commuter Benefit to get reimbursed for NEMO Membership and related fees at the end of the calendar year. Don’t worry, we will remind you about it repeatedly.
DO I QUALIFY FOR THE BIKE COMMUTER BENEFIT?
All Harvard faculty, staff, and student workers qualify for the bike commuter benefit.
HGSU’s bike benefit guide + FAQs is a great resource on this topic. Contact CommuterChoice@Harvard.edu and or hgsu.benefits@gmail.com for additional clarity.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
On-demand bike repair 7am-7pm, Monday-Friday. Mechanic labor is included for 1 bicycle. Member-only discounts and benefits. Expert bike advice and recommendations from our team. Replacement parts and speciality repairs are charged separately as needed. See our full repair menu here.
WHERE CAN I GET SERVICE?
A NEMO mechanic will come to you anywhere within our Service Area.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
$120/year or $84/six months. Don’t want to pay for months in the deep winter or during breaks? Membership can be paused 2 months for each 6 months of Membership.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS NEMO MEMBERSHIP AND THE BICYCLE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM?
The NEMO Membership is more comprehensive and covers a variety of non-emergency repairs as well as emergency situations. You can see the full menu here. Folks pay out of pocket for this Membership and then file for reimbursement at the year-end.
The Bicycle Roadside Assistance Program is focused on emergency repairs only and is currently only available to full-time faculty and staff. That program is free of charge and does not require folks to file for reimbursement. More details on that program can be found here.
